Our kava does not begin with us. It begins hundreds of years ago in Vanuatu, where noble kava cultivars were cultivated, shared, and carried across the Pacific through generations of trade, migration, and kinship. Long before borders, our ancestors moved with their knowledge and their roots — exchanging cuttings the way they exchanged stories, freely and with purpose.
In more recent times, that same spirit of guardianship has continued. Over the last decade, priests migrating between Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands brought kava cuttings with them — acts of cultural devotion as much as agriculture. They understood, as their forebears did, that kava is not merely a plant. It is a living inheritance.
Today, Gold Kava honours that unbroken chain. Every root we harvest carries the memory of the islands, the hands that tended it, and the generations who knew that this plant — grown slowly, with care — holds something the modern world is only now beginning to understand.
